Institution
The Design Minds, Inc., for the Accokeek Foundation at Piscataway Park
While working for The Design Minds, Inc., I developed content for outdoor interpretive signage at the Accokeek Foundation’s lands at Piscataway Park, including the National Colonial Farm, the Foundation’s Ecosystem Trail, and Visitor Center.

What I Did
Exhibition writing & image sourcing
Using summaries prepared by the Foundation’s historian, I crafted text for each interpretive sign.
Sourced images from collections provided by the Foundation and outside repositories.
Project management
Served as point-of-contact with the client.
Investigated and procured eco-friendly material for the visitor center signage.
The Results

The “Leaf, Land, and People” sign for the National Colonial Farm placed what visitors saw in front of them into a larger historical context.

The project included signage inside and outside of the Visitor Center. At the client’s request, we sourced sustainable materials (which I investigated and procured) for the signage inside.

Signage included a “What Can You Do?” section, helping visitors connect what they see to action they can take.
