As Folger’s first Head of Exhibitions, a major part of my role was developing a process for rotating paper-based materials in Folger’s first long-term exhibition space.

What I Did

Facilitated content production

Adapted consultant-produced style guide, disseminated to colleagues for label writing.

Learned workflows of curatorial team, conservation team, facilities team, editor.

Laid out exhibition labels in InDesign.

Directed printing process.

Managed the moving parts

Marshaled workflows through outlining process, creating schedules in AirTable.

In collaboration with Exhibitions Coordinator, created and updated AirTable base to track objects and workflows.

Collaborated with other Folger departments to share their stories in the exhibition space.

Took part in object installation.

The Results

  • Two successful object switch-outs after opening of long-term exhibition.

  • Creation and development of processes and systems to be used in the future.
