Institution

Folger Shakespeare Library

As Folger Shakespeare Library’s first Head of Exhibitions, I managed development of Folger’s first two temporary exhibition changeovers in its new exhibition gallery. I collaborated closely with Curators, Conservators, an editor, and the Exhibitions Coordinator/registrar, along with contracted designers, printers, and installers to complete the two temporary exhibitions.

An exhibition gallery including cases with books and documents, along with title panels.

What I Did

Managed the internal teams

Formed teams for each exhibition, including curatorial staff and other representatives from around the institution.

Developed and maintained schedules for each exhibition.

Orchestrated the work among curators, designers, conservators, an editor, and the registrar.

Managed contractors

Issued requests for proposals, managed the vetting and hiring of designers, negotiated contracts, and served as point-of-contact for designers.

Hired and supervised fabricators, installers, printers, and a lighting technician.

Managed internal communications

Communicated temporary exhibition content, scheduling, and messaging to key stakeholders, including communications staff, development staff, the exhibition committee, programming development group, and senior leadership.
