Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington (now Capital Jewish Museum)

After years of offering successful walking tours, the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington sought to share Jewish history in downtown Washington, Old Town Alexandria, and Arlington National Cemetery more widely. I led creation of printed brochures.

What I Did

Wrote a grant application

Wrote a successful grant application to the DC Office of Historic Preservation to create a Jewish sites in downtown Washington brochure based on research conducted under a previous grant.

Wrote copy for and managed creation of the brochures

Worked with a graphic designer, selected the sites and images, wrote copy for brochures on Jewish sites in downtown Washington and Old Town Alexandria, and distributed the brochures to different locations.

Collaborated with a Society volunteer to do a more extensive brochure on Jewish sites in Arlington National Cemetery.

The Results

  • The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington distributed the brochures for a time after my departure.
